Under the auspices of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İZKÜLTÜR Inc. is a commercial joint-stock company established with the aim of organizing educational, informative, and promotional events in the fields of culture, arts, literature, and tourism services.
İZKÜLTÜR Inc. set out with the goal of highlighting İzmir’s historical and cultural heritage, shaped by its 8,500-year-old past as a port city. It aims to organize events and projects both domestically and internationally that showcase this heritage. The company also seeks to reflect İzmir’s historical texture—marked by traces of many ancient civilizations—through cultural activities in sculpture, cinema, theater, music, film, ballet, opera, performing arts, and many other areas.
The company was founded to carry out all necessary activities related to cultural and artistic products, events, and services; to encourage domestic and international tourism through promotional efforts; and to conduct all kinds of advertising and promotional services in open and closed spaces, through media outlets and in all other platforms. It also has the authority to establish, manage, or have others manage the necessary facilities for these purposes.
İzmir Kültür A.Ş. is a public company established under the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality to support, guide, and work alongside İzmir residents who aim to embrace the cultural and artistic values accumulated throughout İzmir’s magnificent 8,500-year history, to reflect them in the present by preserving them, and to pass them on to future generations by further developing them. The ultimate goal is to once again make İzmir a global city.
Our Field of Activity
With the awareness that nearly everything produced by humans is a cultural product, and that every contribution made to this product is ultimately a form of art, İzmir Kültür A.Ş. operates in all fields of culture and art. It strives to improve the quality of life for the people of İzmir, while preserving, enhancing, and developing the unique urban culture of İzmir that has been distilled through thousands of years of history.
The company was established to carry out all necessary activities related to cultural and artistic products, services, and events; to promote domestic and international tourism; and to conduct various advertising and promotional services in open and closed spaces, through media and all other platforms. It also has the authority to establish, operate, or have others operate the required facilities for these purposes.
To achieve these goals, the company will carry out the following activities:
Operate, rent, lease, and provide consultancy for entertainment and performance centers, exhibition and fairgrounds, convention centers, and artistic performance complexes.
Organize educational, instructive, culturally enriching, and promotional activities in the fields of culture, art, literature, and tourism.
Organize national and international artistic events and participate in these fields.
Organize competitions to encourage, support, and protect artists.
Obtain and implement national and international representation, agency, dealership, and distributorship rights.
Distribute, screen, market, and sell all types of films including movies, TV series, and documentaries both domestically and internationally.
Organize concerts, congresses, seminars, symposiums, panels, and similar events within and outside of Turkey.
Establish artistic and cultural communications domestically and internationally, and participate in tourism-related events and organizations to promote the country’s scientific, cultural, artistic, and touristic assets both in Turkey and abroad.
